Minor: Racism
Only his third novel, and Wells successfully attempts a critique of human nature, but loses control of his themes in places and they veer into the territory of racism and colonialism. In my opinion, those elements are a product of context on an immature author, but certainly plenty of others disagree. A great book, nonetheless, but definitely avoid it if those are strong triggers for you
