I originally read this as an arc in 2024, and you know, it was just as good as the first time I read it. I loved the romance and the yearning. I loved the female empowerment and the way sisterhood is so important to the story. I even loved the biggest betrayal. I don't think a book is complete without someone feeling the sting of being lied to. I also really loved the twist on mindspeaking. I won't say more on that since it would be a spoiler, but mindspeaking is one of my favorite mechanisms in fantasy books so I love when authors take it and make it their own. So good. I think the most interesting part about this series is the goddess. I don't quite know how to feel about her yet, but the way she keeps hinting at things has me trying to figure out what's next and what else she's had her hands in.

On to book two!
