I was giggling and kicking my feet while reading these two ladies swoon over each other. However, Le Fanu's style kept losing me at times. Carmilla made this story so much more engaging and fun and the plot kept pushing her character aside to favor a long and often tedious never-ending narration.

Now, as a lesbian, I knew they weren't going to be endgame but, oh god, did Carmilla deserved a better ending.
