Wild Thing: A Life of Paul Gauguin by Sue Prideaux

I picked this book up because of the Women's Prize Longlist and while I am glad I read it, because I wasn't overly familiar with Paul Gaugin's work and this book included pictures of many pieces of art, his own and others, really helped to boost this book for me.
However, there were so many names to keep track of and by the end of the book it was really slowing down for me. I did appreciate the author trying to explain context of the time and of Gaugin's reaction when they could. I believe that this is very much a 'me not you' thing for the book.
