The Stand by Stephen King

5.0

48 hours of audiobook was a hell of a lot to get through, and if it hadn't been as good as what it was, I would have given up ages ago. But it was exactly as good as it needed to be to keep me going. The characters were all very genuine and believable, and their journeys across America were gripping from start to end. Only one characters end didn't really sit right with me, but it wasn't so bad that it lowered my enjoyment of the book. I'll be adding this to my list of favourite books of all time, and Glen and Nick both to my list of favourite fictional characters.

Grover Gardner was the narrator of the one I listened to. I don't know if there are other recordings, but I will say you can't go wrong with this one. 48 hours and his voices never got tired or annoying. He does different voices for different characters so perfectly, that there was never any confusion caused by the narration.
