Evangelina “Evie” Sage gets rescued by a mysterious individual who then goes on to offer her a job, the only issue is he’s the nefarious Villain who is known to be ruthless. Evie takes on the job as his assistant, working hard to organise his office and make everything more efficient. Despite what the Villain does for a living, Evie can’t help it when she seems to develop a bit of a crush on him.
A straightforward fantasy novel which has a unique and intriguing story that pulls you in as a reader. Both Evie and The Villain are intriguing protagonists who really drive the narrative as it toys with themes of family and the perception of good vs evil. The romantic element is more wholesome compared to the overbearing presentation in similar novels of this genre.
