I'm a sucker for anything mermaid and when you mix in Venice, Italy (and some NYC) then it gets even better. I had no idea what to expect with the first book of the series and it did take me a bit of time to get into the flow of the author and the characters.
Halfway through I wasn't sure if I would pick up another book in the series. While it's an easy and enjoyable read, it somehow wasn't clicking with me. I wasn't quite sure I could trust the narrator, but by the end of book one I was invested enough to want to pick up the next book and see how the story continues.
