Well that didn’t go how I thought it would….

Insta love doesn’t bother me. I believe in it as someone who has been with a guy for 16 years that was insta love…..but I just did not feel the chemistry between Sam and Xavier. In fact, there wasn’t much of anything that happened this entire book, tbh.

I hated the animal cruelty, even if it was a small discussion a couple of times. It’s my one trigger. Leave the animals alone, it wasn’t needed for anything in this book.

The multiple references to Rhysand were overkill. We got zero tension. Everyone was miserable right through to the end.

Some of the banter among each of the characters was funny and I immensely empathized with the dad and the kids with trying to decide the best course of action for the mom as she declined as someone who watched Dementia rob my grandmother for over a decade.

This was another highly anticipated release from an author I adore where it just missed every mark and dare I say that yes Sam, I will forget you, just as you requested of Xavier in the beginning.

It was a fast read considering it lacked any depth at all so that saved it from being another DNF for me.

Onto the next one.
