A gripping, young adult, sci-fi that has murder mystery and also a fantasy feel to it.
I was surprised by how fast this book drew me in. There are multiple POVs and strange timelines, both of which, in my opinion, add to the intrigue of the book. I also think that the multiple POVs added with allowing a better understanding of the characters and development in this standalone book, that I don't think would have been possible otherwise. It also has a little romance in there as well, that was fast but didn't seem forced. There was a couple of really great twists in the book as well as a couple I was able to guess.
The world that was created was so unique somehow blending a new age sci-fi kingdom with a historical kingdom and 2 that were somewhere in between. I would have loved to have the book delve into all of the kingdoms a little more as it only takes place in 2 out of the 4 kingdoms. However not sure that would have worked with the storyline.
Definitely Recommend.
