The Dollhouse
by Fiona Davis
A really great story told in both the past and present. It centers around the barbizon which is a apartment building in 2016. Rose lives there with her boyfriend until they break up and she's thrusting to a dog sitting venture for one of the ladies on the fourth floor. That lady is Darby who was a resident of the building in the 1950s when it was called the dollhouse. Back then young women lived in the barbizon while they became secretaries or pursued acting careers. Darby was a young woman going to typing school. She befriended the maid, Esme and the two gotten some trouble. Darby is expelled from the school and her mother disowned her. Darby is beginning a relationship with Sam who she met through esme. But then as Esme is a squealer of a heroin ring and is a wanted woman. Sam tells Darby to run away to California with him but Darby won't do so without saying goodbye to Esme. As may take this poorly possibly because she is in love with Darby and instead cuts Darby's face and Derby accidentally pushes her over the edge of the building to her death. She then writes Sam telling her that Derby died. This is a story that rose on Earth as she is a journalist looking for a good story. Together with her photojournalist Jason they chased on the story. Rose and Jason ended up in a relationship as well. At the very end Rose and Jason are together and Sam and Darby rekindled her romance. Really great story.
