I just finished Crown of Smoke by Ajme Williams—wow! This is great book!!! So many thoughts!
At first, I wanted to scream at Lucy. She’s so stubborn! I kept thinking, She’s going to get herself killed—why won’t she just listen to him? He clearly knows better. But in the end, it’s that same recklessness that brought them together, and I loved that. Oh—and it was hot, hot, hot!
What really struck me is how eager I was to dive into the Ifrinn brothers’ stories before even finishing this one. That says a lot. It’s such an adventurous, gripping read with a deep backstory—revenge.
Flint (or Flynn) is the perfect example of a man who would do anything for the woman he loves. The story follows four brothers on a mission to avenge their parents’ murder by a traitorous family. Things get complicated when a bold journalist risks everything to expose the truth—even if it means interfering with their plan.
Though her intentions are noble, she ends up putting herself in danger. Still, her courage is admirable.
The author drops enough hints to get me hyped for the other brothers’ stories. I’m betting Phoenix gets a second-chance romance, and I seriously can’t wait for Blaise’s book—and eventually Ash’s!
This book gave me everything I love in a dark romance—intensity, heat, depth, and just enough danger. Highly recommend! 5 stars.
