Bea's friends are getting a divorce and the last thing she expecting was Nathan, the lawyer representing her best friends soon to be ex husband. Now she just has to navigate this messy situation and her own complicated relationship with love in order to be with this man she's falling for. Easy, right?
This was a fun read! I was invested in the characters, and just wanted them to figure out how to be together haha. I feel like you really got to know Bea and some of her layers. I appreciated the angry female character, it was an interesting change (at least from my usual). At the same time, there was almost a little TOO much back and forth and arguing between the main characters at times. It was a little roller coaster for sure. I wanted like a chapter or something from the MMC POV, I think it would have helped provide some balance or something else to the story.
Tropes:
-forced proximity
-"we can't do this." "why not?"
-Secret relationship
-"let's just get it out of our systems"
-banter banter banter
-Fighting before kissing
-He falls first and hard
-1 open door scene. (Chapter 20)
-other fade to black/ mentions of intimacy.
Trigger warnings:
Substance use, and addiction recovery by side character
Divorce
