I Couldn't Even Imagine That They Would Kill Us: An Oral History of the Attacks Against the Students of Ayotzinapa by John Gibler

4.0

"Devastating" may be an over-used word, but it's the only one I can think of to describe the events of this book. I can't imagine how it feels to know that your own government disappeared your child and continued to lie about it for years (and still does, to this day). I did not know anything about the forced disappearance of 43 students from the Ayotzinapa teacher's college in Iguala, Mexico in September 2014 and you don't need any prior knowledge to understand the utter disregard for human life exhibited by the Mexican government. So much of which can be traced to the USA's so-called "war on drugs" which we all know to be in fact a war on life, decency and real freedom.
