This was a really clever story and a very interesting read. Maud is so endearing and the author did a great job of capturing her confusion and gradual deterioration which was heartbreaking to watch play out. I also enjoyed the two plot lines unfolding side by side in a non linear way, mixing up the past and present day, which is often a typical problem for dementia sufferers. As a fan of the crime genre, it was refreshing to see a new perspective.
