This was a really lovely book. The arcing decades felt real, the aging characters honest and lovely and mundane. The story of the Yacoub family over 50 years is important right now. There are many stories that want to talk about the politics and horror of Palestine, but this just wants to talk about the people--uprooted and scattered, bickering and exasperted, loving and close, human and humane.
