Heartstopper Volume 2 by Alice Oseman

5.0

Heartstopper is precious. Not just because of the fluff, but mostly because it’s realistic way of showing lgbt+ issues. Coming out can be hard, especially when you’re not sure yourself. Even if someone will probably be cool with it, there’s no reason to know for sure. I’m glad Alice Osemen gave Nick the space he needed to tell his story. And that it takes a genderinclusive approach by telling everyone bisexuality is loving more than ons gender, not just men and women. A blink and you’ll miss it moment, but it was nice to see it.

It also shows hanging out with people you don’t like that much, annoying straight boys and entering a new friend group. Heartstopper manages to show high school life with all the drama while staying realistic and giving a feeling of comfort. It is a literal portrayal of the ‘it gets better’ saying.
