I have mixed thoughts on this book. I found a lot of it to be slow, painfully complainey, and full of "first world problems." But then I thought about it and recognized that that's exactly what we typically go through. Everyone complains about the little things, whether that's just to themselves or to others is neither here nor there. Being divorced at a young age and finding your way around a new world is something all of us have likely seen friends do. It's not simple, easy, or graceful.
Reading this, a person has to be comfortable with self deprecating humor, or it's just not going to work out. That being said, sometimes I think it just went to the point where it got a little bit sad, and wasn't quite funny anymore, but maybe that was the point. I enjoyed the unlikely friendship with her older colleague and how she helped Maggie adapt to her newly single life. All in all, I think this book is definitely overhyped, but I still enjoyable if gone into with no expectations.
