Summer Rental by Mary Kay Andrews

Did Not Finish

Old friends meet in North Carolina's Outer Banks for a month-long beach stay. For each of them, it's just what they need after the day-to-day has worn them down. The house they rent for the month is owned by Ty Bazemore, who hides his identity from renters by pretending to be grandfatherly Mr. Culpepper. Heading straight toward Ellis, Julia, and Dorie at their beachside rental is Maryn, on the run from an abusive relationship.

That's it. That's as far as I got. I couldn't continue reading; the characters and the storyline were not holding my attention. I couldn't care enough for any of the characters to stick with it to see if it got better or what would happen. I'm bummed this title didn't work for me, as I needed something light and easy to read to distract me from the heavier things going on around me. But alas, is was not to be for me.
