Red Country by Joe Abercrombie

5.0

I picked up so many details on the re-read. This is the far Country, the hard and unforgiving country, the red country. And they will cut a bloody swath through it to get to those kids. Some new characters are introduced and some old, much loved characters are given a depth that may leave a bad taste in your mouth. But I loved it. Every raw, gritty, emotional word of it. Best served cold is my favorite but this is a very close second. Pay attention, the name is never said but all the evidence is there from the beginning. He named his oxen what? I laughed out loud with the joy of it.
