I like Erik Larson’s nonfiction accounts, and I like the journalistic voice on historical events instead of an academic voice. The first half of this book just makes you so confused as to Dodd and Martha’s views and actions. But then the second half they finally learn and do slightly better. With the plethora of works around world war 2, to still find something that I can learn something from is quite good. It was a chilling read.
