Killer Chardonnay by Kate Lansing
4.0
It had been a while since I'd picked up a true cozy mystery and so I figured I'd give this one a try. This was really fun and a change of pace for the cozies I've read this year. I really enjoyed the setting of Boulder, Colorado. It's not a setting I've read a lot and it was fun to mix it up a bit with this one.
I also really liked that our main character was opening her own urban winery. It was fun to follow her trying to solve the murder while pushing through the trouble it causes her freshly opened winery. There were also tons of rich descriptions of gourmet food and wine. And it had my mouth watering. By the end I wanted to go to a local winery and order a charcuterie board with a tall glass of wine.
Overall, I found this to be a fun first in a winery based cozy mystery series and I'll definitely be picking up the next book.
