The Holiday Honeymoon Switch by Julia McKay is a charming holiday romance about heartbreak, healing, and the magic of stepping out of your comfort zone. After Holly is dumped on her wedding night, she refuses to let her Hawaiian honeymoon go to waste—and her best friend Ivy insists on switching vacations. Ivy takes the tropical escape while Holly heads to Ivy’s remote artist retreat in upstate New York to mend her broken heart.

I adored this dual-perspective story of two best friends trading places and unexpectedly finding love. Holly and Aiden’s connection in the snowy mountains was cozy and sweet, while Ivy and Oliver’s tropical chemistry in Hawaii gave major “right place, right time” vibes. Both romances felt like fate was quietly pulling the strings—and I loved every minute of it.

One of the best parts of this story is the contrast between the traditional Christmas setting in New York and the sun-drenched beaches of Hawaii, showing that the holiday spirit can thrive anywhere love is found.

While the pacing was mostly easygoing and relaxing, the last 50 pages felt a bit rushed in comparison to the rest of the book. Still, this festive read left me with a warm heart and a big smile.
