FORMAT: Audio
ENTERTAINMENT VALUE: 4.25 / 5⭐
TECHNICAL / PRODUCTION: 3.25 / 5⭐
FINAL – OVERALL: 3.75 / 5⭐
So, you can like a poorly-written book, just as you are allowed to dislike a well-written book.
This story sort of lacked in its driving forces while the story moved along, anyway. It was littered with common sports book tropes. It definitely overused the phrase, "This isn't my first rodeo."
And yet I still enjoyed listening to this book? Like, the ideas and the foundation were all there, and the resolution was incredibly sweet. But even though I think something was fundamentally missing along the way, my heart was still warmed by it in the end, and the book is not destined to sit with the hundreds of forgettable romances I've binged in the recent years.
Worth mentioning: the only other book I've read from this author DOES sit with those above-mentioned forgotten romances.
