5.0

If I were able, I would give this book a 4.5. Since I’m not able to, I’ll just give it the 5 stars. Why? I was hooked immediately and really didn’t want to put it down. The ease with which I read it and the endearing story of Mr. Zamperini made me want to continue reading.

Unbroken tells the unflappable story of Louis Zamperini. From his early crime-laden, juvenile years to his energetic golden years, Zamperini lived and loved life. A celebrated runner and past Olympian, he lost his dream of returning to the Olympics when he fought and was captured during World War II. Living as a POW took a toll on Louis but his luck and spirit never died.
The story tells of his adventures throughout his life.

The only thing I did not like about this book was the abrupt ending. The Epilogue is drawn out but it manages to wrap up many details left hanging during the story.

I would recommend this book to just about anyone as it is written for a general audience.
