Jilted Jock by Rebecca Jenshak

4.0

At 4.5 stars, several aspects of this story hit really close to home and I love when reading can do that. Rebecca's sports romance stories are always a good time and Jilted Jock contains a soccer player who falls hard for a woman with a kind, helping heart.

Dumped at the alter, rough day doesn't even begin to describe it. With no place to go because his his now ex left on their honeymoon and told him to move out of their apartment by the time she comes back - and oh by the way she also left him for one of his teammates - ouch!

Adele, sister to a former soccer player who was at the non-wedding, brings Finn home on that disastrous night. Seeing as he has no where else to go, she opens up her home to him knowing she was one a mess herself and if it wasn't for the kindness of strangers she might never have made it out of the addictive state she was living in. She's now been clean for years, living an orderly life, has a good job, and a boyfriend.

When Finn moves in Adele never considers that Finn would be interested in her, not only is she older than the sexy soccer star, but she's fairly boring. She's a long way from the wild, out of control girl she used to be, but the more time they spend together the more they seem to find in common, so it's probably a good thing when she decides to move to New York to be with her boyfriend and get away from the all too tempting Finn.

Not everyone gets a second chance at the things that matter most. Rebecca gives us a look at what is important and how to fight for it. Finn has a HUGE heart and I couldn't love him more for it, but I also like the fact that Adele isn't a huge pushover. These two will touch your heart and to top it all off there is an adorable kitten, which I'm a big softie for.
