Martinius’ personality and truth comes out in this book, which makes it a lively read at times. I picked up this book because I’m a lapsed runner, and a slow one who has experienced DLF, being left in the dust by running club members, and being scorned for taking more than 5 hours to finish a marathon (SMH). I already have pretty much learned all the tricks in the book, except the “sticking with it” part. Not sure the goals setting stuff will work for me, but I can find inspiration in the Slow AF app community, and I’m inspired to try to find a running group in my new community.
