If the Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy
4.0
4.5⭐
I had such a good time reading If the Shoe Fits! The main character is plus size, and delightfully confident (I read another book last year with a plus size MC with internalized fatphobia and it was difficult at times). Anyway, I felt much better about If the Shoe Fits, and I really liked Cindy. I think this is the first time I've ever seen a Cinderella story in which the family mostly got along. It's definitely different. I loved the reality TV environment & the main characters' relationship.
I'm going to make a vague comment to avoid spoilers - the ending doesn't really stick the landing, and it was too rushed. I also have some questions about the way things worked out, but it's fine.
I loved this book, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next books in the series.
Content notes - main character experiences grief and fatphobia
