The Game of Sunken Places
by M.T. Anderson
this is one of those that might have been better in print. the reader added some really odd angles to the story. also, i’ve been very distracted lately and this storyline barely held my attention enough for me to know what was going on. i had the hardest time keeping the two main characters (best friend boys) distinct in my head (”which one is the nephew of the guy they’re visiting?”) it had some very odd elements (fans of the abarat series might enjoy it) and some twists at the end, but it didn’t really do much for me.
