I bought Friendaholic because I, myself, am a friendship addict. I laughed, cried, and cringed whilst reading this book. Elizabeth Day interviews some of her closest friends and people she knows to get a varied insight into friendship, what it means to different people, what it means to her, and what people have learnt about navigating friendships as they have grown. It covers feelings around friendship during the pandemic, family, home, death, grief, memories and more. I recommend this book because it was a really interesting insight into what friendship can mean to different people or in different stages of life. I wanted to read this to help me when writing about friendship in fiction, and I’m really glad I did because it’s been so helpful in developing those relationships. ‘She explained that she had made a deliberate decision to choose life.’
