A Little Too Late by Sarina Bowen

4.0

This has been one of my most anticipated series for 2022. A Little Too Late is the first book in the Madigan Mountain Series, and a stellar start and a great set-up to this multi-author standalone series with Rebecca Yarros and Devney Perry. Ava and Reed’s story was sweet, endearing and swoony in the best kind of way. Sarina Bowen’s skilful, engaging writing and her effortless storytelling made this story an absolute delight to read. The story easily flows, the characters are full of depth, and her words come alive to give this book her magic touch. It’s truly a beautiful story about second chances, true love, and forgiveness.

I was drawn into this one immediately, and I had no trouble connecting with Ava and Reed’s sweet, sexy, second chance romance. I loved how easy these two were together, even with all the baggage they had to sort through, their feelings for each other never wavered. I loved how easily they fit together even though their lives could not have been more different. They were both at a place in their lives when they needed the other without knowing and they came into each other’s lives at the right time. And it was no surprise that years later that connection between them is still there and also their fiery chemistry.

A Little Too Late was such an enjoyable start to the Madigan Mountain Series. This second chance romance and the picturesque Madigan Mountain hit all the right notes. Filled with low angst and sweet moments. I loved the secondary characters just as much as Ava and Reed. I am already fully invested in this series and I’m absolutely dying for more. I’m excited for the next two books and can’t wait to get to Weston and Crew’s stories!
