Exodus 20:3 by Freydís Moon

This was an intimate and steamy novella pairing an ancient angel and a young trans man as they work to rebuild a church in the New Mexico desert. The reflections on - and use of - prayer and worship was interesting and unique. Ariel’s angel form was truly otherworldly, basically alien. I loved the transition from awe, fear and attraction into a stripped, honest sort of intimacy. So much was said without being SAID. My only complaint was that I wanted a bit more development, between the two and how Ariel’s life led him there. And the ending felt like we skipped past some important resolutions. I know it’s a shortie though - I read it in a day - so like, just a LITTLE more please
