This one was definitely a slow burn to start but oof, the second half totally made up for it. TJ Klune just has this way of taking a totally forgettable character that you really don't care about and making you fall absolutely in love with them by the end of their journey. To me, that marks a truly great writer. While this story is very different from The House in the Cerulean Sea, you definitely still got those fantastical, other-worldly vibes as well as heartwarming character arcs. Fair warning, this book will make you cry. I'm so glad I read this one. TW: death, suicide, grief.
Graphic: Death, Grief
