Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie
3.0

Whoo, boy, does Hastings get ever so much more annoying in this sequel! Regardless, I still enjoyed the interesting twists and turns to be had in the second Poirot novel, featuring a double murder.

Agatha Christie does a great job of letting you think the mystery has been solved... but you never know when she is going to add in another twist, change the murderer, or even just turn everything upside down. As mentioned, Hastings does get a bit aggravating in the end - jaded creature I am, I was rolling my eyes for such a prolonged time that they got stuck in the upwards position - but as always, I appreciate having to follow in the know-nothing's footsteps in order to properly have the mystery solved in one eloquent soliloquy. (Surprisingly enough, Hastings does start using his "grey cells" a bit more in this one! Gives me hope for the next... 37 books.)
