Rebel Rising by Rebel Wilson
5.0

I thought this was a great memoir by Rebel Wilson. I highly recommend the audio because, obviously, Rebel Wilson is hilarious.
In her memoir, Rebel Wilson really opens up and dives into some pretty heavy topics including growing up in Australia (as she calls it “the bush”); her challenging relationship with her father who could be abusive and then how she felt about his death; body image, her weight and her relationship and struggles with food (“when it comes to sweets, I don’t have an off switch"); her sexuality; and her battle with infertility and PCOS, eventually leading to the birth of her daughter by surrogate.
I love that she’s so open about working in Hollywood, how she’s been treated as a woman and some harassment she’s faced (she has a whole chapter on the extremely inappropriate conduct of a male co-star), and even about the money she’s made and how it’s changed her life (Disneyland superfan). I’ve seen several of her movies – my favourites being The Pitch Perfect franchise of course – but I really didn’t know anything about her life. Not only is she a talented actress, I learned that she went to law school and has actually used her knowledge in doing business in Hollywood.
