This was a very complex volume. Coco comes to a realization that puts her at a tipping point. At the start of this series I was so sure of what path she would stay on, but the further I get into the series the more I see the nuance of her situation. Could she perhaps go down a dark path to save her mother?

Qifrey is also a very complex character, and learning his motivations and what he is willing to do to keep on that path shows he has a dark side to his character. I really like that learning that these characters have a bit of a dark side. I find altruistic characters to be a little boring. Morally Gray characters are far more interesting.
