The Long Earth by Terry Pratchett, Stephen Baxter
3.0

I kind of like it. I mean, most of the time I felt like I'm reading a bunch of short stories about the same thing and not a novel but still, I kind of like it.

I love the idea of the "Steppers" (natural or not) and the Long Earth. Of people being able to step into alternative realities of Earth and the different ways of how earth could have developed. And, I wish we could have spent more time exploring these worlds and their differences and similarities.

The solution about the migration of the trolls & Co? Hm. Not sure if I buy that.

About Joshua and Sally racing back to Madison - it took Helen and her family, what? Nine months or so the get to their earth. Joshua and Lobsang traveld there in a few days. In total Joshua and Lobsang have been on their way 2 or 3 months before Joshus and Sally went back in direction of Datum, right? How is it possible that Helen already knew about Madison? *scratches head*

The ending? *hmpf* That isn't an ending, it's a set up for the second part. It's as if someone said "Stop, we put the rest into another book". :/

I like Joshua and am not sure about the motives of Lobsang. There has been a bit too little of Sally to make up my mind of her.

I'm not sure if I'm going to read the second part or not.
