I’d been wanting to read this one for a while and knew roughly that it was about a student/teacher relationship. I thought it was going to be a newly qualified teacher, where the age gap is minimal and they lived happily ever after and you’re left questioning if it really was wrong… I was not expecting Strane!

This was quite a difficult, uncomfortable read and in my opinion, way too graphic at points given Vanessa’s age. I was close to DNFing but pushed on in the hope of an epiphany but felt let down by the subtlety of the ending which felt pretty flat to me.

And my final note, why oh why are there no chapters???
