I'm not an expert on the aesthetic or the genre, but surely this isn't dark academia? It's just... academia?
I'm giving this 3 stars because I liked it at the beginning and it wasn't an unpleasant read, but it was ultimately boring. The pacing made no sense to me, and there was very little suspense and a lot of talking about school procedure and administration.It was also so obvious who the bad actor was.
It got briefly exciting when I realisedthe kids had clocked the demon and teamed up to deal with it , but it was such a small part of a pretty slow and wandering story.
