Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry, Ridley Pearson

5.0

I've got to say after giving up on the Kingdom Keeper series by Ridley Pearson (co-author of this book) I thought it was a safe assumption to say that I wouldn't be reading anything from the author again. Apparently I was wrong. This was SO much better! The plot was constantly moving and exciting. The central focus that I enjoyed was watching how, in the writer's imagination, the legend of Peter Pan came to be. The book covers everything from the mermaids, the crocodile, and how Peter learned to fly. It was a fascinating take on a beloved classic and I'm intrigued to continue the series. There wasn't much I didn't like expect that the further I got to the end, the harder it was to keep up with the timeline of events because the pacing was so fast and often overlapped between the several povs. Other than that I enjoyed this immensely! The illustrations were a nice touch as well.
