a truly incredible memoir that is a must read. the author gives us the story of her life before, during, and after surviving a massacre in the Congo. it’s heartfelt and heartbreaking 

don’t go into it looking for historical context, or gaining a deep understanding of the conflict in the Congo. this is the author’s story of the impact of the massacre she experienced on her own life and is geared towards young readers. it’s an important story that should be known
