Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow
3.0

So. Much. Information. Holy moly, how do authors like Ron Chernow do it! Is he 250 years old with an uncanny memory? How does one take all the stories and news clippings and hearsays and make a book like this? For that, this is a 5 star book no doubt. But then, with so much content I simply got lost in all the facts. I want to know the moment when Lin-Manuel Miranda was like "ok, I can distill this bible of content into a 3 hour hip hop masterpiece". Watching Hamilton on TV before reading this book was probably the unfair approach, as I loved the play and just thought this was a very well crafted biopic, but I simply did not have an emotional connection with it. I was intrigued, but not amazed. Hence, the 3 stars.
