This is absolutely one of the most horrific stories I've ever read. I will say horror because the story is pretty damn horrific, and the fact that it is a true story makes it even more so.
The short chapters help because I absolutely needed a few breaks while listening to this on Audible. My heart hurt for the kids here, yet I also felt so frustrated at times when they wouldn't go for help when they had chances. And the same for the unfortunate people who this psychopath lured into her home. She was able to brainwash them all, and it was infuriating to read.
Add to that the fact that this horrible woman is already out of prison?!
