Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

4.0

I was really excited to get this book, the fact that Blake was inspired by bees was very interesting to me.
Reading and listening to other people's reviews as I was reading it, I kept hearing that no one had a favorite, that they didn't want any of the queens to die. I found I did have my favorites but it would alternate in preference through out the book. I didn't care for the naturalist in the beginning, I dreaded her chapters, but towards the end I was eager for them. I loved the elementalist because of her gifts but started hating her towards the end of the book. I guess the poisoner I could say was my over all favorite, but i didn't crave her chapters but thought the amount of POV she got was perfect, despite not quite understanding her gift.
The Female friendships in this book are very strong and I adored them (I wish Katharine had stronger female friendships but wasn't too disappointed)
Over all the book leads up to an event that I thought was going to happen a lot sooner. It does drag a bit in the middle, but it set up really nicely for a squeal in the end, and I can't wait for it.
