I read a review comparing this book to black licorice—you either love it or hate it—and I have to agree. This book is certainly not for everyone. It’s a chaotic, bizarre ride that leaves you questioning what was real and what wasn’t. The writing leans heavily on figurative language, and with an unreliable narrator, it can be a challenging read. That said, it’s grown on me since finishing it last week. The more I think about it, the more I’ve come to appreciate its originality, strangeness, and ambiguity. The middle dragged a bit for me, and the ending isn’t clear, but overall I enjoyed it. I’m eager to see the screen adaptation!
