The Brilliant Abyss by Helen Scales

4.0

A really great book on deep sea marine biology as well as in depth looks into what's happening in the political and economic world surrounding our massive blue regions. The first part of the book focuses on the geography and creatures in the deep reaches of the Abyssal zone and Hadal zone. She then gives a detailed report of how humans have exploited the oceans in the past and how we continue to exploit them now, even in light of new information of how negatively the world can be affected by the disruption of life in the depths. It's a good and interesting read for sure, especially if you love marine biology and deep sea life.
