This book was disappointing. I loved the start, Eartha’s exploration of her sexuality was great and her friendship was Rose was funny and enjoyable. I kind of wish that was the whole book.

Florence tried to pack way too much into one book. The themes she covered around influencer culture, “cancel culture”, social media, mental health and biphobia are really important and it’s so valuable seeing someone talk about this who has experienced it first hand. However, I wish she’d made this two books. I wish it was a novel about Eartha and Rose, friendship, exploring sexuality and all the great stuff covered in the first few chapters. And then a separate book, more in the style of WDOYP, that covered her personal experience with all the other stuff (because let’s be real, that’s what this kind of is anyway, a novel about a character that’s basically her)

Overall I didn’t hate it, there was just too much crammed into one book with no real depth or flow.
