Blame It on the Tequila
Blame it on the Alcohol #2
by Fiona Cole
Narrated by Jason Clarke & Stephanie Rose

Stepbrother romance, second chances and a rockstar to boot, how could I resist listening to Fiona Cole's second book in her Blame it on the Alcohol series? Nova and Parker are thrown together when their parents get married. Their love of the arts bonds them, and they find their feelings are turning from friendship to love. Nova helps Parker and his band, and as they rise to stardom, their lives separate. But not before tragedy has hit Nova. Now years later, the band needs a lyricist, and Nova unsuspecting answers their ad. Needing the money, she swallows her pride, takes the job and is now facing the one man she has loved. Will these two get their second chance? Talk about chemistry! Nova and Parker have it in spades, but we also have to talk about how well she just fits in with the band! It's like life hasn't changed, as long as no one discusses the past. Cole reaches into hearts and pulls all the emotions to the surface. I love how she manages to create her characters with flaws and doesn't try to fix them, but to let us love them as they are. It's a fantastic listen and you can blame it on the tequila!

Jason Clarke and Stephanie Rose are our storytellers, and they bring his all to life. I love both of these narrators. They both understand the characters and find their inner voices to create their personalities. Clarke has a vulnerability in Parker that makes him endearing, at times frustrating and easy to love. Rose lets us feel Nova's brokenness and need to heal. It's fantastic and a pleasure to listen to.
