So, this was actually a VERY tedious read for the first 350 pages or so.  I started and stopped it about 5 times before pushing through.  A lot of lore, confusing world-stuff, and I'm still not 100% sure what was happening.   Focusing on a boring character from the first book and switching to a (shudders) second person POV was not my cup of tea.

It all paid off.  Holy shit, that payoff.  The final 100 pages of this book were AMAZING and it only achieved such great heights because of the slow burn at the beginning.  I cannot wait to read the next one!
