Ghosts by César Aira

An incredibly simple premise written in an inventive and challenging way. I sometimes felt that the philosophical asides were not .... aside enough .... but especially around architecture and the nature of thought, it often worked very well. I think this book taught me that there are in fact captivating ways to "tell" rather than "show," ways to really dig into a character's interiority and thought process that don't have to be grounded in scene.
