Some time has passed since the last novel of Drizzt and his companions and more than a decade since he left the Underdark for the last time. Not long enough, it turns out, for him to be forgotten by the Drow deity Llolth or by his family.
Drizzt again ends up battling dark elves... coming up against his vow to never kill a dark elf again... but this time it is not for his own freedom, but for his friends. What chance do the companions have against more than twenty Drow? With these fighters and the power of thousands of dwarves behind them, quite a good one.
This book is a very worthy continuation of the series and is a must read for anyone invested in Salvatore's works.
